MATERIAL:
The plastic blend in our Paul McBeth line of discs is very close to our ESP blend. The blend is a little more "pearly" than our ESP blend, though, and we just call it the "McBeth blend" here at Discraft.
First introduced in 2006, ESP plastic was created to bring an increased grip to premium plastic without sacrificing too much durability. It beats in to fly a touch more understable than Z plastic and is only slightly less durable. The tell-tale sign of ESP plastic is the opaque, pastel-colored appearance along with a stiff but slightly tacky grip.
DESCRIPTION:
Athena is a brand new mold in the Paul McBeth line of discs from Discraft. It fits that 7 speed fairway slot that has enough stability to hold up to the biggest arms in the game but it also holds extremely straight at high speeds. This is a mold that Paul McBeth will lean on as a staple in his fairway game. Described as a slower Anax, this is a disc that can be manipulated on a bevy of lines all over the course. Since the initial release of the Prototype Athena, Discraft fans have loved this mold. With a flight that features decent glide and a forward finishing hyzer flight, this is a fairway you can trust in all conditions to have the control that you want.
